For me, this is the best protein powder I've tried so far. What's especially important to me is that it doesn't contain any added sugar and still tastes really good.
Many other protein shakes are way too sweet for my taste, and I can often detect that typical aftertaste of artificial sweeteners. With AlpenPower Cocoa, I don't have that problem at all. The flavor is pleasantly chocolatey, not overpowering, and doesn't taste artificial to me at all.
Since I have prediabetes, I also pay attention to how my blood sugar reacts to different foods. I’ve personally had very good results with this protein—my blood sugar stays stable afterward.
I think it tastes best with a mixture of 50% low-fat milk and 50% water. That way, the shake turns out nice and creamy, but not too heavy or too sweet.
As far as taste goes, it's definitely my number one so far!
I have a very sensitive stomach and can’t tolerate artificial sweeteners. I tried the strawberry whey and mixed it with almond milk. The flavor is very subtle and unsweetened. The fruity variety doesn’t taste fruity enough for my liking, so I’m deducting one star. Four stars for digestibility and the short ingredient list. I’d love to try other varieties as well. It would also be nice to have a larger package size for athletes.

I especially like the natural vanilla flavor. The whey is pleasant to drink, not overly sweet, and doesn't have an artificial aftertaste. It also dissolves very well in both water and milk.

After deliberately choosing a sugar-free protein powder—of course, you can taste the difference, but in a good way. The coffee flavor is my favorite and has the most intense taste. All the others are good but a little bland. I've tried a lot of brands—Alpen Power is my favorite right now.
