Micellar casein is the natural form of casein protein in milk. It is obtained by gentle filtration from organic skimmed milk and contains no chemical additives. In contrast to other types of casein (e.g. caseinate), the protein structure is retained - this ensures particularly slow absorption in the body.

Casein is ideal for situations in which your body needs to be supplied with protein for several hours - e.g. overnight, between meals, during fasting phases or during long outdoor activities. It protects the muscles from breakdown (anti-catabolic) and supports continuous regeneration.

The best time for casein is before going to bed, as it supports muscle recovery overnight. It is also suitable during the day as a filling snack or source of protein between meals - especially if you have longer breaks between meals.

The organic micellar casein is gluten-free. It naturally contains milk sugar (lactose), so it is not suitable for people with severe lactose intolerance. In some cases, however, casein is well tolerated by people with mild lactose sensitivity - please note individual tolerance.
