I’ve been taking collagen for quite some time now, and I’ve switched back to Alpenpower because I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s my favorite. It dissolves really well—in coffee, for example—has a neutral taste, and, most importantly, the composition of collagen peptides 1, 2, and 3 is optimal; plus, the fact that the cattle are pastured and the products are lab-tested speaks for itself. Alpenpower is also hard to beat when it comes to price. I mix the powder into my coffee in the morning and eat an apple or some berries with it for the vitamin C, which is supposed to help the body absorb the collagen better. And I really appreciate that nothing else is added to this powder. That way, you can tailor it to your individual needs.
As for how collagen works… well, I’m 63 and have been taking collagen for at least three years now. I haven’t gotten any younger, but I have virtually no wrinkles, healthy, thick hair, and healthy fingernails. Whether that’s due to the collagen, I don’t know, but it does me good and I wouldn’t want to be without it.
